The GoldenRAM project is leveraging the robust computational capabilities of the CLOUDUT project infrastructure to drive advanced research and development.

The CLOUDUT infrastructure has been designed and developed to meet the requirements and performances necessary for research projects in the scientific and engineering fields specific to the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca such as big data, artificial intelligence, spatial data, satellite data, internet of things, complex simulation, and computer assisted design.

CLOUDUT therefore provides the high-performance computing (HPC) resources necessary to support GoldenRAM’s mission of advancing sustainable practices in mineral exploration and resource management.

Empowering GoldenRAM with CLOUDUT

CLOUDUT supports GoldenRAM’s research, encompassing spatial data analysis, satellite data processing, and complex simulations, which demands a scalable, high-performing, and secure infrastructure through its advanced private cloud ecosystem, tailored to meet the interdisciplinary requirements of engineering and environmental science projects.

Within CLOUDUT’s private cloud infrastructure, the GoldenRAM project relies on a robust architecture that includes Virtual Machines (VM) tailored to meet specific application requirements.

Cloud computing enables the centralised utilisation of hardware and software resources. Its key benefits include:

  • Flexibility and Scalability: resources can be dynamically allocated based on application demands.
  • High Performance: computing and storage resources are efficiently managed to achieve high performance.
  • Redundancy and Availability: backup protects data and ensures business continuity.

Virtual Machines Supporting GoldenRAM

This tailored approach ensures optimal resource utilisation, enabling the efficient processing and analysis of large GoldenRAM datasets.

GoldenRAM leveraging CLOUDUT capabilities is not just about utilising HPC resources, it’s about creating a model for how high-performance infrastructure can enable transformative research. With capabilities for real-time performance monitoring, secure data handling, and GPU-accelerated processing, this synergy is setting a benchmark for innovation in resource management. These results of the CLOUDUT analysis will flow in the GoldenRAM platform in order to populate the AI database and to implement the AIKPs developed by the GoldenRAM project partners.
